WEST IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE WAR
Thamilselvam, the mouthpiece of the warlord terrorist Prabhakaran has given the final word coming from his master. He has warned the Sinhala people. "Give us the ISGA and live in peace or be prepared for a war". What does the president do? She apologises for something that the UNP thugs encouraged by some of the UNP politicians did in July 1983. Irony of ironies. Prabhakaran's terrorists attack and murder some supporters of Karuna, who was responsible for Arantalawa murders and the killing of those innocent policemen who surrendered on the orders of President Premadasa, in what is now known as the South and not far away from Colombo. Was that an apology by Prabhakaran for the massacres at Arantalawa and other places? Where are the apologies for the Sinhala people not only for the crimes done against them but also for the betrayal by the leaders appointed and continue to be appointed by the British?
Ms. Kumaratunga who is not a proper SLFP member as she is following the policies of her late husband's party, namely the Sri Lanka Mahajana Party is also under pressure from the western forces. However, that is not an excuse for betraying the Sinhala people having come to power on the votes of mainly the Sinhala Buddhists. Last year when Ms. Chandrika Kumaratunga made herself the minister of defense there were some people who thought that the security of the country would be improved as a result of taking over the ministry. However, nothing happened and the situation remained the same with the terrorists roaming the city of Colombo and other places without any obstacles. The terrorists of Prabhakaran could go to any place in Colombo or the suburbs murder anybody they want and continue to live safely until the next execution. If people do not like barricades then educate them on the importance of going through regular inspections for the safety of the country and the people. Instead of doing that some third rate art critics who are maintained by the Non Government Organisations financed by the western Christian countries, praise so called works of arts on "barrels" created by so called artists, who themselves are third rate.
The so called ground situation is very clear now. The terrorist leader Prabhakaran and his other terrorists demand an ISGA. They want to negotiate only on that matter. Ms. Chandrika Kumaratunga, who is de facto a member of the SLMP is also for an ISGA. Further she is under pressure from some western countries. Given half a chance she would have conceded the northern and the eastern provinces to Tamil racism. She would not have had any objections from the SLFP as she controls that party since 1992 and many SLFPers think that the party is in power because of her. They would not realise that the SLFP is in power in spite of Ms. Chandrika Kumaratunga. If the SLFP had a leader with Sinhala Buddhist credentials they could have easily gained much more seats than they got at the last general elections. If the SLFP cannot find a leader who has no difficulties with the genuine SLFP policies within the next two years then the JVP would soon become the senior partner in the Alliance (Sandhanaya).
The western powers that created (Netherlands or Holland - it was the Dutch who brought the ancestors of most of the Tamils in Jaffna for their tobacco cultivations and got the Tamils to write a bogus history in the form of Yalapanam Vaipava Malai in order to deprive the Sinhala kings in Kandy the region roughly known as the eastern province today), baptised (UK - it was the British who created the legislative assembly with equal representations for the Sinhalas and the Tamils ignoring the history of the country as well as the population ratios and wanted Tamils as the leaders of the country) and maintained Tamil racism in this country, are also for an ISGA. They continue to use Tamil racism against Sinhalathva and the national liberation struggle, and use Prabhakaran and the terrorists to achieve their objectives.
Norway a small country in Northern Europe is only the representative of the bigger western powers and the Norwegians work according to an agenda set by the big powers. They drafted the so-called MoU between the Sri Lankan Government and the terrorist outfit and want the others to accept the LTTE as the sole representative of the Tamils. However, very few Norwegians probably know what their government is doing in Sri Lanka and the Sri Lankan government has not taken steps to inform the public in the western countries what their respective governments are up to in a small country in the Indian Ocean. Has the Sri Lankan government given any publicity to the protest by the EPDP, not a so-called Chauvinist Sinhala extreme party, that demonstrated outside the Norwegian Embassy in Sri Lanka against the activities of the Norwegians who support and collaborate with the terrorist group called the LTTE against not only the Sinhalas but against the other Tamil groups and political parties as well. The Sinhala e-mail heroes living in those countries have no ingenuity to make use of such incidents to create a public opinion against their respective governments.
Karuna faction is another case in point. The LTTE with the help of the government of Sri Lanka is in a process of annihilating the cadre of the Karuna faction. One could be surprised by the inclusion of the government of Sri Lanka as a helping force of the LTTE. However, what has the government done to prevent the LTTE from killing members of their rival groups. What has Ms. Chandrika Kumaratunga who visited the terrorists in Chennai and other places with her late anti Sinhala Buddhist husband in the form of a Sinhala Cinema actor done after taking over the ministry of defense last year. The LTTE is killing their rivals not in Vanni or Jaffna but in Colombo and the suburbs. Would India allow a terrorist group that wants separation to behave in a similar fashion in Delhi? Would the British government keep quiet if the IRA resorts to similar terrorist activities in London? The answers to these questions are obvious to anybody living in those countries as well as in this country. However, when it comes to the LTTE the western powers have a different tune to play.
The only political party that opposes the ISGA strongly at present is the JVP. The "Janabhakthies", the "Janadasas" and other ex Marxists and pseudo Marxists and sons of Marxists who are in essence only "Janapalas", write columns to government media supporting interim administrations. We ask them what is the purpose of establishing interim administrations? What is the problem that they want to solve through these interim administrations? However, unfortunately the JVP itself is still adhering to their Marxist ideology and refer to a so called national question (jathika getaluwa) when dealing with the Tamil racist problem in Sri Lanka. I was surprised to find Dr. Gunadasa Amarasekera who claims that in his very first article on Jathika Chinthanaya he came out with the concept of Jathika Chinthanaya and said that Marxism is no substitute for Jathika Chinthanaya, though a theory cannot in any case be a substitute for a Chinthanaya as theories are formulated within a Chinthanaya, himself using the term Jahthika Getaluwa in one of his recent articles. (Professor Amaratunga of the Dental Faculty who writes on Jathika Chinthanaya does not seem to know how the concept of Jathika Chinthanaya evolved from a word that was used to translate "thought" as it appeared in an article on the Russian Revolution. Those who want to write on how the concept of Jathika Chinthanaya evolved are advised to read the debates that were published in the pages of Divaina in late eighties and early nineties.) In spite of the terminology we have to give credit for the JVP for consistently opposing vehemently the ISGA in the recent past. It is also true that if not for the opposition of the JVP and the national forces the ISGA would have been conceded by Ms. Chandrika Kumaratunga with all the assistance of the "Janabhakthies" in the media.
The ISGA is obviously something that cannot be given to the LTTE and Tamil racism. If the LTTE is not prepared to give up the ISGA and if the Sri Lankan government, in spite of Ms. Chandrika Kumaratunga, cannot concede the ISGA then obviously there is a stalemate. What would Norway do under these circumstances. So far the policy of Norway has been to obtain the agreement of the government of Sri Lanka for the demands made by the LTTE. The so-called government also under pressure had agreed to whatever demands that the LTTE made. However the situation is somewhat different now. The Sinhala national forces do not have to depend on theories of Liberalism or Marxism and they have their own theories on Tamil racism. They have formulated the concepts, studied the evolution of Tamil racism from the Dutch period to the Norwegian period and they know how the Tamil racists wanted to become the leaders of the "Sri Lankan" nation with the connivance of the British. The Sinhala national forces cannot be fooled anymore and unlike in 1956 they have a vision instead of merely following an oppositional path.
What are the options available for Norway and the west nearly fifty years after fifty six. They could try to oust the JVP from the government and form a "grand coalition" of the SLFP and the UNP that would finally agree to the ISGA. The JVP should not quit the government and continue to oppose the ISGA. The west could drop Prabhakaran as he is very intransigent and is an obstacle to carry out their agenda. They cannot drop Prabhakaran without destroying him and it could be a problem for them though it is not something beyond their capabilities. However, they would try to scare the Sinhala people with a war and obtain the approval of the Sinhalas for the ISGA. Thamilselvam has already fired the first shot in this direction by threatening the Sinhala people. The LTTE, as a last resort if everything else fails, could even kill the leaders of the JVP who have now become the main obstacle on their path to the ISGA. The LTTE always begins by killing the Tamils and follow it by murdering the Sinhalas. EPDP, Karuna faction and then the JVP could be how they order their political enemies.
Are the Sinhalas going to kneel before the threats of the LTTE and give the ISGA and hence a separate country for Tamil racism that is being helped by the western forces and of course by their NGO allies? The peace vendors will shout about the cost of war and would campaign for peace at any cost for which they would be adequately remunerated. So far the LTTE with the help of the peace vendors have tried to scare the Sinhala people with an imminent war and get the approval of the latter step by step for a separate state. However we have now come to the last stage. The Sinhala people in spite of Ms. Chandrika Kumaratunga would not agree to an ISGA. The war has already started. Killings of cadres of EPDP and Karuna indicate this fact. There is no point in blaming the Sinhala national forces for their so-called Chauvinism of not agreeing to an ISGA. Nobody in the world would agree to anything similar to that in any other country. It is Norway and the west that have to be blamed for the war. They are responsible for helping and maintaining the LTTE. It is they who drafted the MoU and tied down the hands of the Sri Lankan "government" while giving a free hand to the terrorists. Even at this late stage they could avoid the war if they are really against a war. Instead of pressurising the Sri Lankan "government" to agree to the ISGA, they could drop Prabhakaran.
